If you have finally decided to get your first GPS system, what better place to start than your nearest GPS store? Although you can check for specifications, photos and reviews on the internet, there’s nothing like seeing it with your own eyes. Some of the GPS handheld devices are so amazing when seen live that you can’t afford not to check them out first at a GPS store.

On the other hand, even if you made up your mind about which GPS operating system you are going to acquire, it wouldnt be a bad idea to buy it on the spot without checking the internet first. As with most electronic “gadgets”, there are a lot of specialized online gps stores that can probably offer you the same GPS system for a much lower price. Who would ever refuse a nice discount price?

Once you get your hands on your GPS, be sure to read the instructions manual. It probably has a lot more features than you’ll ever need or use, but once you now your way around the menus, you’re set to go. Truth be said, these newer models at a GPS store can even be operated without ever looking at the instructions manual: unlike first generation devices filled with cryptic menus and functions, modern GPS offer big high resolution color displays, with easy to understand menu icons. I guess that’s technology at work, right?
