Laptop GPS, Computer global tracking wherever you go
Wondering what you can do with a laptop GPS? Well… it’s more about what can’t you do! Sure, you may think that your laptop and wireless internet connection is all you’ll ever need. But that lacks a very important piece of data: your current position on the planet. Let’s face it, if you have a laptop you’ll most likely be carrying it around wherever you go. And if you happen to go on a trip to some place you’ve never been before… Does that laptop GPS sounds better now?
You can get cheap Laptop GPS modules for your laptop. The cheaper ones usually connect via USB or serial port, but if you hate messing around with cables you can get a Bluetooth gps USB receiver. After that, you’ll never ever be lost again (as least not until you get a low battery warning light on your laptop or GPS module). There are several gps software packages that you can choose according to your requirements. But if you just want to know where you are and get directions to a specific destination, I recommend getting the fantastic Google Earth program. You’ll need the Pro version to be able to use the GPS, but it is well worth it, believe me.
Once you get used to having your "Laptop GPS" coordinates logged in, you can use it to make detailed reports of where you’ve been, how long it took to get you there, and use that information to plan improved routes for business visits. After all, time is money, and using the GPS to save you travel time will ultimately end up in paying for itself.
